Orocobre CEO Martín Pérez de Solay interviewed exclusively by PANORAMA MINERO July 1, 2019

As part of his presentation at “VIII Seminario Internacional: Litio en la Región de Sudamérica” (VIII International Seminar: Lithium in South America), Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Orocobre Limited, Mr. Martín Pérez de Solay was interviewed exclusively by the event organisers PANORAMA MINERO. Mr. Pérez de Solay shared his objectives, plans for the company to continue to provide quality products with competitive costs, the current state of the lithium market and the role played by China.

“As Managing Director and CEO of Orocobre since the beginning of 2019, I have witnessed the potential we have in Argentina in terms of resources and world class assets that we have built. To strengthen our position as a low-cost, high-quality lithium producer, our focus is on three key areas: safety, quality and productivity. We believe that improvements in these areas will result in improvements in our costs, customer satisfaction and increased production that will result in increased value for the shareholder.

All these developments are possible thanks to an extensive work in conjunction with the communities that give us their knowledge, help us to take care of the resources and at the same time they are part of the virtuous circle.

In line with the focus on quality, special attention is being paid to improving the concentration of lithium in our raw material, brine. The improvement of the quality of the brine has multiple effects, a greater recovery of the lithium, a lower cost of production and a greater quality of the product.”
